Highly Oriented Pyrolytic Graphite/HOPG

BZNCarbon supplies high-purity Highly Oriented Pyrolytic Graphite (HOPG)—a specialized synthetic graphite material manufactured through high-temperature chemical vapor deposition and graphitization processes. HOPG exhibits properties very close to single-crystal graphite and is recognized for its exceptional structural orientation and anisotropy.

Description

What is HOPG?
Highly Oriented Pyrolytic Graphite is a form of synthetic graphite with extremely low mosaic spread and very high thermal and electrical conductivity in the a–b plane. It is used as a reference standard in advanced material research and high-tech industrial applications due to its excellent crystallinity and purity.

Applications:

  • Scanning Probe Microscopy (AFM, STM calibration)

  • Neutron monochromators and analyzers

  • X-ray diffraction calibration

  • Surface science and crystallography

  • Electron microscopy reference samples

  • Nano- and quantum-scale experiments

  • Energy storage and graphene research

Grades Available:

  • Grade A: Mosaic spread ~0.5° ± 0.1° (FWHM) – Highest crystallinity

  • Grade B: Mosaic spread ~0.8° ± 0.2° (FWHM) – Standard laboratory use
